Shlomo Ovadia
About
Shlomo Ovadia, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with a master's degree in Social Work from Long Island University, earned in 2015, with a concentration in Addictions and Substance Abuse. From the beginning of his career, Shlomo has focused on the treatment of trauma, with a particular interest in complex trauma. He was deeply influenced by the work of Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and the groundbreaking book The Body Keeps the Score. Shlomo attended multiple trainings with Dr. van der Kolk, where he was introduced to the principles of Parts Work and Internal Family Systems (IFS), both of which have become foundational to his therapeutic approach. Shlomo specializes in treating trauma-related anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and related symptoms. His practice is rooted in a person-centered model, emphasizing the belief that each individual’s core Self holds the innate capacity for healing and growth. He supports clients in reconnecting with that Self as a path toward internal integration and authenticity.
