About

Sarah

Sarah Shasho, LCSW, is a Staff Clinician in our Lakewood office. She completed her master’s degree in Social Work at Wurzweiler School of Social Work. Sarah provides individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, with a strong focus on trauma healing, emotional well-being, and personal growth. Her therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sandtray Therapy, somatic work, inner child work, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and creative techniques such as art and music integration. Sarah is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive space where each client can explore, heal, and move toward lasting change.

What made you want to become a therapist?

I’ve always been drawn to the depth of the human experience — the emotions, the protective patterns, and the resilience people carry within them. What led me to this work is a deep respect for the complexity of human experience and a desire to provide space where people can safely explore, understand, and reconnect with themselves. I believe in people’s ability to heal and grow, and it’s an honor to support that process every day.

What can I expect from a session with you?

You can expect our sessions to feel like a safe and supportive space where all parts of you are welcome. My approach is active yet gentle — honoring your pace while also helping you challenge old narratives, recognize your strengths, and build lasting clarity and self-trust. Depending on your needs, we may use EMDR, inner child work, somatic and emotional awareness, or creative outlets like art and music to process and express what’s inside. Together, we’ll create a space not just for coping, but for real healing and growth.
